# How to switch plans

> Switch your Upstack Data plan from Settings → Billing: move to a smaller or different plan, lower your order limit, or change between monthly and yearly billing.

Use this page to move to a smaller or different plan, lower your monthly order limit, remove a product, or change between monthly and yearly billing. To move to a larger plan, see [How to upgrade your plan](/billing/how-to-upgrade-your-plan).

<Warning>
  Plan changes take effect immediately — including downgrades. The new plan's included orders and overage rate apply to the whole current billing period, and nothing stops you from choosing a plan below this month's order volume. Orders above the new limit are billed at its overage rate at the end of the period.
</Warning>

    You'll see **Plan Changed Successfully**. The change takes effect immediately and the price difference for the rest of the billing period is prorated. If you're in a trial, your trial end date doesn't change.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  If your current plan is no longer offered, you'll see **A few things to know** before the review — your current rate isn't available once you switch. Click **I understand, continue** to proceed. Switching from a plan that's no longer offered starts a new billing period on the day you switch.
